The concert a few days before had done much to loosen Cody Rhodes up and so that Tuesday he decided to celebrate his birthday after all. A table at his favourite Chinese restaurant had been booked for the evening. Already there were close members of his family such as Goldust and his wife as well as best friend Ted Dibiase Jr. Others have been invited as well they just haven't turned up yet.
As they sat there with predinner drinks Cody stared bittersweet at the watch his late dad had got him for the milestone occasion of his 30th.
Goldust: I know how much that must mean to you right now, he's here with us in spirit.
The bizarre one smiles at his brother.
Cody: Yeah… Thanks everyone for making the best you could for me out of this day. I really appreciate all your gifts and I'm glad we could be together.
Ted: No problem besides who would want to miss the opportunity to rub it in your face that you are officially old now.
His friend teases him.
Cody: Please! 30 isn't old anymore and remember you are two years older than me as it is so if I'm old now what does that make you?
He fires back with smirk.
Ted: It doesn’t matter since I’m better looking anyway.
Cody: Yeah yeah looks aren’t everything buddy.
Ted: Obviously not to Eden.
He chuckles.
Cody: And charisma isn’t important to your wife you’re as interesting as a house plant.
Everyone else looks at each other bemused.
Eden: Honestly the two of you are terrible.
Cody: What? He’s not on the road anymore so we have to get our shots in when we can.
Ted: Too true.
Goldust taps Cody on the shoulder.
Goldust: I think our waitress is bringing someone to our table maybe more than one.
They strain to see but couldn’t make out who yet although they were coming closer.
